Kaffeehaus Goldene Waage

The Kaffeehaus Goldene Waage is a three-story timber-framed building identifiable by its vibrant red-painted woodwork and Renaissance facade. It stands near the cathedral as a reconstruction of the original seventeenth-century house that once belonged to the Dutch merchant and confectioner Abraham van Hamel. He moved into the home in sixteen eighteen, operating his business from a structure that became known for its ornate stucco ceilings and detailed wood carvings.
