Historisches Grünes Gewölbe

The Historisches Grünes Gewölbe, or Historic Green Vault, is a treasure chamber located within the western section of the Dresden Royal Palace. It is distinguished by its opulent Baroque interiors where roughly three thousand pieces of jewelry, gold, amber, and ivory are displayed on open consoles in front of mirrored walls. Elector Augustus the Strong created this collection between seventeen twenty-three and seventeen thirty, intending for the royal treasury to be accessible to a select public.
