Rosengarten, Dresden

The Rosengarten is a landscape garden stretching along the banks of the Elbe, recognizable by its geometric hornbeam hedges and distinct sections filled with around one hundred varieties of roses. Created between nineteen thirty-five and nineteen thirty-six, the park was designed by the city garden director Heinrich Balke to provide a scenic promenade on the Neustadt side of the river, serving as a landscaped counterpart to the built-up Altstadt across the water.
