Chabad Synagogue Meah Shearim

The Chabad Synagogue in Meah Shearim, commonly known as the Baal HaTanya shul, is located on Baal HaTanya Street. Founded in eighteen ninety-nine, it was the only synagogue for Chabad followers in Jerusalem outside the walls of the Old City at that time. A man named Yitzchok, who hailed from Königsberg, Germany, provided the majority of the funding for the construction, which is why the original name of the building is Ohel Yitzchok.
