Rotterdam Centraal is defined by a colossal stainless steel roof that angles sharply toward the city center. This angular, protruding canopy, often compared to the shape of a shark's fin or a swoosh, marks the main entrance. Opened in twenty fourteen, the building is the result of a collaboration between Benthem Crouwel Architects, Meyer en Van Schooten, and West 8. It replaced a nineteen fifty-seven station designed by Sybold van Ravesteyn, which was demolished to accommodate the increasing number of passengers traveling through this hub.
