The shop has roots reaching back to seventeen ninety-six, when Frederik Schell first opened a local inn where hunters could have their game prepared. Generations later, the family transitioned into the butcher trade, operating on the Oude Binnenweg until the bombing of Rotterdam in nineteen forty forced them to relocate to their present site just two months afterward.
