Baluarte del Mirador

The Baluarte del Mirador is a stone fortification perched on the slopes of Monte Urgull, distinguished by a prominent mast flying the Basque flag. It began as a simple surveillance platform in fifteen sixty-seven, designed to monitor the city and the nearby sandy areas of Gros. Over the following centuries, it evolved to meet changing military needs, functioning as a battery by sixteen oh nine to better command the sea, before reaching its current form as a bastion in seventeen twenty-six.
