The Maria Kristina Zubia, or María Cristina Bridge, is defined by four eighteen-meter-tall obelisks that stand at its corners, each crowned with decorative sculptural groups. Spanning the Urumea River, this structure serves as a grand connection between the city center and the North Station. It was built using reinforced concrete, which was an innovative material at the time of its completion in nineteen oh five.
