The Peace Dove, or Bakearen Usoa, is a monumental sculpture of a bird with wings spread wide, standing seven meters tall on the Sagües esplanade. Designed by the Basque artist Nestor Basterretxea, the piece is constructed from a steel frame coated in white polyester. This industrial choice allows the sculpture to endure the persistent winds and salt air of the Cantabrian coast.
