Hotel Maria Cristina, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Sebastian

The Hotel Maria Cristina is defined by its ornate, light-colored stone facade and distinctive corner turrets, which rise prominently above the banks of the Urumea River. Designed by the French architect Charles Mewès, the building opened in July nineteen twelve as a centerpiece of the city's Belle Époque era. Queen Regent Maria Cristina, for whom the hotel is named, was the first person to cross its threshold.
