Pasealeku Berria, also known as the Paseo Nuevo, is a coastal promenade that hugs the rocky edge of Monte Urgull. You can identify it by the way it stretches between the city’s harbor and the mouth of the Urumea River, separated from the open Cantabrian Sea only by a low stone wall. Completed in nineteen nineteen, the walkway was designed by municipal architect Juan Rafael Alday and engineer Luis Balanzat to open the city to the water.
