The PROGR Turnhalle is easily recognized by its open courtyard and its history as a former gymnasium, now repurposed as a lively hub for concerts, exhibitions, and a cafe-bar. Located at Waisenhausplatz, the building has undergone several transformations since the seventeen eighties, beginning as a city granary and later serving as a barracks. By eighteen eighty-five, it had been rebuilt as a municipal gymnasium and primary school.
