Provand's Lordship

Provand's Lordship is identified by its sturdy, lime-rendered stone walls and a steep roof that marks it as the oldest surviving house in Glasgow. Built in fourteen seventy-one by Bishop Andrew Muirhead, the structure originally served as part of St Nicholas's Hospital. It stands today as one of only four medieval buildings left in the city, holding a history that connects the site to the Cathedral Chapter and the clergy who once lived within its walls.
