Glasgow became home to several massive portraits of the comedian Billy Connolly in twenty seventeen. These works were commissioned by BBC Scotland to mark his seventy-fifth birthday, with each portrait based on an original piece by a renowned Scottish artist. The project spanned the city, featuring a windblown Connolly on the coast, a surreal depiction by Rachel Maclean, and a drawing by the artist John Byrne.
