Casa del Oro

Casa del Oro is a two-story building constructed of limestone and adobe around eighteen forty-five. Its white, thick-walled exterior and historic appearance distinguish it from the neighboring structures within Monterey State Historic Park. Built by Thomas O. Larkin, who was then the American Consul to Alta California, the structure was later leased by Joseph Boston to house a general store.
