Precita Park

Precita Park is a two-acre rectangular green space in Bernal Heights, defined by the split-up path of Precita Avenue that borders its north and south sides. Named for the long-buried Precita Creek—which once flowed toward the bay but was paved over to create Cesar Chavez Street—the park officially entered the city registry in eighteen ninety-four. Its layout now hosts a gated playground, a butterfly garden, and an open lawn that spans the valley floor at the northern foot of Bernal Hill.
