Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall

The Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall is defined by its ultra-modern, curving glass-and-white facade that anchors the San Francisco Civic Center. Opened in nineteen eighty, this concert hall was purpose-built to provide the San Francisco Symphony with a dedicated home, ending decades of sharing the nearby War Memorial Opera House with the city’s opera and ballet companies. Its construction was made possible by the generosity of Louise M. Davies, for whom the building is named.
