Musée Mécanique

The Musée Mécanique at Pier Forty-Five is a vast, open room filled with the mechanical clatter of more than three hundred vintage arcade machines. These coin-operated devices, ranging from turn-of-the-century music boxes to pinball games, hum with the activity of a bygone era of public entertainment. Many of the machines were originally part of Playland at the Beach, a historic amusement park that operated until nineteen seventy-two.
