Community Music Center

The Community Music Center is marked by two Victorian houses on Capp Street with blue paint and white trim. This nonprofit organization has occupied the main building at number five hundred forty-four since nineteen twenty-one. It began as a music department within the Dolores Street Girls Club, where Gertrude Field, a nurse and violinist who moved from New York, served as the first director.
