The Gaughran House stands out for its Beaux-Arts facade, defined by the heavy ornamentation, curved balconies, and intricate ironwork that became a signature of its designer. Located at twenty-seven thirty-one to twenty-seven thirty-five Folsom Street, this multifamily residence was completed in nineteen hundred and marks the oldest surviving work by the self-taught San Francisco architect James Francis Dunn.
