Cabrillo Playground Park

Cabrillo Playground, located between Cabrillo and Fulton streets and thirty-eighth and thirty-ninth avenues, is recognized by the pirate ship structure within its children's play area. The park first opened in nineteen thirty-eight, and its clubhouse was designed five years earlier by the San Francisco architect William Gladstone Merchant. Merchant served as the consulting architect for the city's Recreation Commission during the nineteen thirties and also created a matching twin clubhouse for the Fulton Playground.
