Lands End - Golden Gate National Recreation Area

Lands End is defined by its rugged, wind-swept cliffs that plunge two hundred feet into the Pacific Ocean at the northwest corner of San Francisco. This coastal stretch, now part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, served as a seasonal settlement for the Yelamu Ohlone people for thousands of years before becoming a site of major industrial and recreational development in the late nineteenth century.
