Lodge at the Presidio

The Lodge at the Presidio is distinguished by a long front porch lined with teak rocking chairs, overlooking an expansive grassy field that once served as a parade ground for the United States Army. Housed within a three-story, red brick structure known as building one hundred and five, this hotel occupies one of the original Montgomery Street Barracks. The government constructed these barracks between eighteen ninety-five and eighteen ninety-seven to house artillery, cavalry, and infantry companies at what was then one of the largest military posts in the country.
