Mountain Lake Playground sits at the southern edge of the Presidio, sloping gently toward one of the few remaining natural lakes in San Francisco. You can identify this space by its terraced layout and vibrant, multi-colored rubber surfacing, which winds in spiraling paths around large earthen mounds. These mounds, along with concrete walls embossed with vertical patterns, mimic the sand dunes and marshy tule reeds that historically defined this landscape.
