Shrimpboat Sound Studio

other

Shrimpboat Sound Studio sits along the Key West Historic Seaport as a boxy, windowless white building covered in layers of stickers left by visiting fans. Originally built as an icehouse for the local shrimping fleet, the structure became a private recording sanctuary for Jimmy Buffett in nineteen eighty-six. He leased the facility from the city to escape the noise and pressure of major music hubs, turning the former storage cooler into a functional studio where he recorded dozens of his albums.
