The Utah State Capitol sits on a prominent rise known as Capitol Hill, recognizable by its massive dome and the fifty-two granite Corinthian columns that line its exterior. Completed in nineteen sixteen, the structure was designed by Salt Lake City architect Richard Kletting, who drew inspiration for the neoclassical building from the United States Capitol in Washington.
