The Assembly Hall sits on the southwest corner of Temple Square, instantly recognizable by its twenty-four distinctive spires, one of which is famously flat on top. This Gothic Revival building was constructed between eighteen seventy-seven and eighteen eighty-two to provide a heated meeting space, as the nearby Tabernacle proved difficult to keep warm during Utah winters.
