Deuel Log Cabin

The Deuel Log Cabin stands as a modest, fifteen-by-twenty-foot structure built from Douglas fir and lodgepole pine. You can identify it by its rugged timber walls, which appear in stark contrast to the surrounding modern institutions, situated between the Church History Museum and the Family History Library. This cabin is one of only two surviving original homes constructed by Mormon pioneers during their first year in the Salt Lake Valley in eighteen forty-seven.
