State of Utah Council Hall

The State of Utah Council Hall is a square, two-story building constructed from red sandstone blocks sourced from Red Butte Canyon. You can identify it by the prominent balustraded balcony over its central entrance, which is framed by a broken stone pediment. This building originally served as the seat of Salt Lake City government and the Utah Territorial legislature from eighteen sixty-six until eighteen ninety-four.
