The Beehive House is identified by the distinctive beehive sculpture that sits atop its roof, a symbol early members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints used to represent industry and cooperation. Built in eighteen fifty-four, the home was designed by Truman O. Angell as the primary residence and office for Brigham Young, who served as the second president of the church and the first governor of the Utah Territory.
