The Clark Planetarium is defined by the large, distinct metallic dome that rises above its home within The Gateway district. This modern science center, which opened in two thousand three, traces its roots to the Hansen Planetarium that served the city for nearly four decades. While many cities incorporate science displays into larger museums, this site was built as a dedicated, stand-alone planetarium to inspire interest in space and physics.
