Spice Alley

Spice Alley is a narrow, lantern-lit network of walkways that winds between restored nineteenth-century terrace houses in Chippendale. Originally, these brick-lined passages were the utilitarian backyards of workers’ cottages and industrial buildings associated with the nearby Tooth and Company Kent Brewery, which was established in eighteen thirty-five. Today, this space functions as a hawker-style market, where vendors serve pan-Asian street food.
