Notre-Dame-des-Victoires is a small stone church in Place-Royale distinguished by its steep roof, symmetrical façade, and a bell tower that rises above the surrounding historic merchant houses. Built starting in sixteen eighty-eight, it stands directly upon the ruins of the Habitation, the first permanent French settlement established by Samuel de Champlain in sixteen zero eight.
