The Morrin Centre occupies a four-storey, neo-Palladian building characterized by a symmetrical facade, a large pediment, and a central section that projects forward. Constructed between eighteen oh eight and eighteen thirteen, it stands on the site of the former Royal Redoubt, a defensive fortification dating back to seventeen twelve. This building originally functioned as the city’s common gaol, designed by architect François Baillairgé to replace a decaying prison.
