The Frontenac Kiosk is one of six ornate gazebos that punctuate the Dufferin Terrace, a wide wooden boardwalk clinging to the edge of the cliff overlooking the St. Lawrence River. These structures, easily identified by their decorative, pavilion-style roofs, were inaugurated in June eighteen seventy-nine as part of Lord Dufferin's ambitious project to beautify the city's waterfront.
