Bolsa de Comercio de Santiago

The Bolsa de Comercio de Santiago fills a triangular block in the city center, recognizable by its circular corner entrance that rises into a prominent dome and stone tower. Built between nineteen thirteen and nineteen seventeen, the structure was commissioned when Chile’s financial elite sought a headquarters that could mirror the confidence of the country’s booming mining and export industries. Architect Emilio Jéquier designed the building in the French Renaissance style, deliberately using the language of European museums and public institutions to signal that Chilean finance was orderly, modern, and permanent.
