Palace of the Courts of Justice

The Palace of the Courts of Justice spans an entire city block, defined by its neoclassical facade and a prominent two-tiered portico. Its entrance features Doric columns on the lower level and Ionic columns above, capped by a pediment that displays a stone condor standing on an open book labeled with the Latin word for law. This massive structure was built in two phases between nineteen oh five and nineteen thirty, following a design by the French architect Émile Doyère.
