The Jardín Japonés, or Japanese Garden, sits on the slopes of Cerro San Cristóbal. You can recognize this spot by its collection of traditional stone lanterns, wooden bridges, and a central pond, all set against a backdrop of the Andes mountains. It opened in nineteen seventy-eight as a gesture of friendship between Chile and Japan, later gaining the name Jardín de la Amistad.
