Zabala Artes

Zabala Artes occupies a space along the street of Juan de Dios Morales, historically known as La Ronda, in the center of Quito. This workshop is identifiable by its focus on the traditional wooden top, or trompo, a craft that Gerardo Zabala dedicated his life to preserving. Inside, the shop houses an array of handmade wooden toys, including tops, yoyos, and small wooden carts, all crafted using techniques Zabala honed over forty-six years of working at the lathe.
