St. Catherine's Passage

St. Catherine's Passage is a narrow, cobblestone alley defined by overhead stone arches that link its medieval buildings. Stretching between Vene and Müürivahe streets, this lane follows the outer wall of the Dominican monastery, which was founded in twelve forty-six. The passage preserves the historic footprint of this religious complex, which once housed monks who maintained a school, a library, and a brewery before the buildings were largely destroyed during the Reformation in the fifteen twenties.
