Museum of Estonian Architecture

The Museum of Estonian Architecture stands out as a substantial limestone structure, easily recognized by its heavy industrial forms and arched windows that reflect its original purpose as the Rotermann Salt Storage. Completed in nineteen oh eight to a design by Baltic-German engineer Ernst Boustedt, the building once housed the city’s salt supplies. After standing as a vestige of Tallinn’s industrial past, it underwent a major reconstruction in the mid-nineteen nineties to prepare it for its new role as a repository for the nation's built history.
