The Stadtbibliothek am Mailänder Platz is a monolithic, cube-shaped structure that rises forty meters high, defined by a facade of pearl-grey concrete and rows of frosted glass bricks. Opened in twenty eleven, the building was designed by Korean architect Eun Young Yi, who envisioned it as a meditative center for knowledge within the city's regenerating Europaviertel district.
