Jubiläumssäule

The Jubiläumssäule is a thirty-meter-tall granite column standing in the center of Stuttgart's Schlossplatz. You can identify it by the bronze statue of the goddess Concordia crowning the top, standing on a sphere and holding a palm leaf and a laurel wreath. Built between eighteen forty-two and eighteen forty-six, the monument was commissioned by the estates of Württemberg to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of King Wilhelm the First's reign and his sixtieth birthday.
