Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof

landmark

The Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof is distinguished by a twelve-story tower topped with a large, rotating, illuminated Mercedes-Benz star. This central railway station was designed by architects Paul Bonatz and Friedrich Eugen Scholer, who won a nationwide competition in nineteen ten with a plan they titled the Navel of Swabia. Built between nineteen fourteen and nineteen twenty-eight, the structure is celebrated for its monumental architecture and its status as one of the most significant railway buildings of the early twentieth century.
