The Carl-Zeiss Planetarium Stuttgart is marked by its distinctive stepped pyramid shape, a futuristic structure that stands within the Mittlerer Schlossgarten. Designed by architect Wilfried Beck-Erlang, the building opened in nineteen seventy-seven to bring the cosmos indoors through a twenty-meter-wide dome screen.
