Heine Haus in Düsseldorf

The Heine Haus on Bolkerstraße is identified by its role as a dedicated literary center in the heart of the Altstadt. Heinrich Heine, the influential nineteenth-century poet and critic, was born in a building on this site in seventeen ninety-seven. Although the original structure was damaged during the Second World War and subsequently rebuilt in nineteen forty-seven, the location maintains a connection to the author who famously wrote of his deep nostalgia for this very street and the house of his birth.
