Neanderkirche

religious

The Neanderkirche stands in the Altstadt, distinct for its early Baroque architecture that remains largely tucked away from the main street. Built between sixteen eighty-three and sixteen eighty-seven, this is the oldest Protestant church in Düsseldorf. It was originally constructed as a hidden court church, tucked behind houses to remain inconspicuous in a city where the Reformed faith faced significant opposition during the Counter-Reformation.
