Heinrich-Heine-Institut

The Heinrich-Heine-Institut occupies a pair of historic patrician houses on Bilker Straße. You can identify the site by its presence within these two traditional buildings, which house the world’s only museum dedicated to the poet Heinrich Heine. Born in Düsseldorf in seventeen ninety-seven, Heine became a central figure in German literature during the transition from Romanticism to the Young Germany movement.
