St. Maximilian

St. Maximilian, often called the Maxkirche, is defined by a prominent steeple that anchors the view along Citadellstraße. This late Baroque church, built between seventeen thirty-five and seventeen thirty-seven, stands as a distinct landmark in the Carlstadt district. It began as a Franciscan monastery, and its layout still includes the former cloister and monastery buildings, now known as the Maxhaus, which sit directly adjacent to the main structure.
