Graf-Adolf-Platz is a wide, busy junction distinguished by an oval pavilion in its center, which was inaugurated in nineteen thirty-seven and remains in use as a restaurant today. The square occupies the former site of the Bergisch-Märkische railway station, which served the city until a new central station was built two kilometers to the east in the late nineteenth century.
